Dr. Natalie Lord, DVM, is the founder and lead surgeon of Doodle Doctor, a veterinary surgery center dedicated to providing exceptional surgical care at prices that keep pets with the families who love them.

For more than nine years, Dr. Lord has practiced veterinary medicine throughout Central Texas, beginning her career as a mixed-animal veterinarian serving rural communities. Working around the clock as an ambulatory and emergency veterinarian, she provided after-hours emergency care, cesarean sections, trauma management, and urgent surgical services for animals of all sizes—from companion animals to horses and livestock.

Those early years shaped her philosophy of medicine: quality veterinary care should never be limited by geography or financial barriers. Whether treating a ranch horse miles from town or performing emergency surgery on a family pet, Dr. Lord believes every patient deserves thoughtful, evidence-based medicine delivered with compassion, practicality, and respect.

Throughout her career, Dr. Lord developed a special passion for surgery. Inspired by mentors in shelter medicine, rescue organizations, and Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) programs, she refined the efficiency and precision required for high-volume surgery while never compromising patient safety or surgical standards. Today, her surgical experience includes thousands of procedures ranging from routine spays and neuters to advanced dental surgery, mass removals, reconstructive procedures, soft tissue surgery, wound management, and emergency operations.

Her background in mixed-animal practice has also given her broad experience managing complex medical conditions, including dermatologic disease, endocrine and metabolic disorders, nutrition, geriatric medicine, ophthalmic emergencies, and critical care. This diverse experience allows her to approach each surgical patient with a comprehensive understanding of the whole animal—not just the procedure being performed.

After years of caring for pets across rural Texas, Dr. Lord recognized a growing problem: families were increasingly forced to delay or decline necessary surgery because of cost or limited access to veterinary specialists. She founded Doodle Doctor to change that.
